Zayed AL Khair Collection
This body of work documents the photography undertaken for the Zayed Al Khair Collection catalogue, produced in conjunction with the collection's first exhibition at the Abu Dhabi Art Fair in 2017. Created by acclaimed artists Amalie Beljafla and Hatty Pedder, the collection was conceived as a tribute to the founding father of the United Arab Emirates, His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan (1918–2004), celebrating his legacy through a series of contemporary artworks.
The photographs were commissioned to record the artworks for publication and archival purposes, requiring careful attention to colour accuracy, detail, and the material qualities of each piece. Beyond documenting the collection, the project reflects an engagement with the relationship between artwork and image, considering how photography can faithfully communicate the scale, texture, and visual presence of artworks beyond the exhibition space.
